The client is a swiftly expanding fintech enterprise, delivers cloud-based SaaS data and analytics solutions to a diverse clientele within the global financial markets. The client portfolio encompasses investment banks, asset managers, proprietary trading firms, financial regulators, trading venues, and research companies. Currently serving 20 clients, including major global banks, our aim is to reach 50 clients by the conclusion of 2023. About job

Our rapidly expanding FinTech specializing in data analytics is in search of a skilled and seasoned Operation Owner to spearhead the advancement and oversight of our products and services. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with our engineering, data science, and business units, steering product strategy, pinpointing market prospects, and crafting inventive solutions to fulfill customer requirements. This role presents an exhilarating chance for an experienced product manager well-versed in Fixed Income and data analytics to influence the trajectory of our company.

Strategic Understanding:
  • Responsibility: Understand the business, its operational risks, and drivers of internal tooling.
  • Action: Outline a comprehensive vision and strategy to establish control and oversight of our plant operations.
Implementation Planning:
  • Responsibility: Own the plan for execution, whether through in-house development by the dev team or external procurement.
  • Action: Strategize and execute the automation of current manual controls, maximizing efficiency.
System Optimization and Reporting:
  • Responsibility: Own the alerting system, ensuring usability at scale for timely responses from support personnel and developers.
  • Action: Drive the development of dashboards, monitoring tools, and operational tooling for visibility and control across multiple installations („Pods”).
  • Additional Action: Develop and own both internal and external reporting systems, covering uptime, reliability/DR, capacity, cost, speed, and client-related SLAs, including regular and ad hoc reporting as required.
A perfect profile:
Experienced operations professional adept at designing internal tooling with strong organizational and planning skills. Proficient in GCP and cloud operational tooling, excelling in automation through Python, bash scripting, and SQL. Possesses excellent communication skills, a high level of ownership, and the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders. Familiarity with Terraform and knowledge of data visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau are additional assets.
In one ”sentence” this role is – Responsible for strategising and implementing control measures, integrating tools into operational processes, and ensuring visibility and control over a single-tenancy SaaS with multiple client installations, with a focus on continual improvement of automated operations at scale.

  • Set forth and articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our services and products.
  • Foster close collaboration with engineering and data science teams to propel product development, emphasizing quality, scalability, and timely delivery.
  • Engage in market research, customer interviews, and data analysis to prioritize product features and advancements.
  • Collaborate with business and sales units to strategize customer acquisition and retention, ensuring effective go-to-market plans and pricing.
  • Define, consistently monitor, and analyze product performance metrics, utilizing insights to enhance offerings and propel revenue growth.
  • Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders, advocating for their needs in product development and roadmap planning.
  • Function as a mentor for engineering teams, offering industry guidance and support.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a comparable role within buy-side, sell-side, or FinTech companies.
  • Profound understanding of Fixed Income markets, products, and regulations, coupled with expertise in Fixed Income instrument pricing.
  • Demonstrated success in shaping product strategy, driving development, and delivering substantial business outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, leveraging data to guide product decisions and evaluate success.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, adept at influencing and fostering agreement among diverse teams.
  • Practical involvement with Agile development methods and proficiency in product management tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Looker or Tableau.
  • Acquaintance with cloud technology, preferably Google Cloud.
  • Understanding of AI and machine learning techniques and their relevance in financial services.
  • Practical involvement with Python and SQL.
